They buy a lot of those cars from America, but there was production as well in OZ as you point out. A number of Americans are buying utes and other rarities from them also.
Follow Ups:
We did a few model variants not done in the US.
Decades later I'm still spewing about a '39 Plymouth coupe I missed out on. It was 3 window - Aussie made, the US only ever made it in 5 window.
Cheers,
John K
Yes, I have never seen a three window here. How much did it go for?
The bastard wouldn't sell it.
It was sitting in his back yard slowly rusting. The bottoms of the doors were gone and the floor was bad.
But it was all complete, with licence plates on it - may have been off the road only 5 or so years.
Chrysler flathead 6.
It would have made a stunning street car - see the piccy of one somebody down here has.
Cheers,
John K
I ran into a thread at the HAMB yesterday. Guy had just bought a 39 Plymouth coupe. Several other members posted pictures of their 39's. All five window and nowhere as striking as the 3 window you pictured. The profile looks a lot like that of my 41 Willys couple
