This is follow up to a post below from Mike Samra about today's detectors and police radar systems.
Have the systems become refined enough to make a dash detector less or non-effective?
Follow Ups:
Laser radar guns can easily beat a radar detector if you are the first one they monitor. They have your speed by the time your detector goes off. Where they are effective is with KA band and picking up Lasers when they are being used on cars far enough away you can adjust your speed. Our cops use both KA and laser. I still have one in the Corvette.
I used to have a radar jammer on my 89 Cougar and I had the antennas inside the front grill and below the rear license plate. They are still using KA band radar?

No sure. Around where I live most of the cops use KA, but the State police have laser.
I used to drive fast most of the time.
Now I drive the speed limit (or if the traffic is heavier, what everyone else is doing, but trying to keep it limited to 9 over, our area cap for always no ticket)
I now 'save' my 110+ mph blips for when I really really want to go fast. and even then for the briefest of times.
Plus I like to go fast on curved ramps.. where there ARE no cops waiting.
This really saves on possible tickets.
I usually drive 5 to 9 over on the freeway if traffic is light. My days of going balls out most of the time are way behind me.
