the colors on trees appear annually around the world at different times of the year because the color in the leaves 'drains out' into the ground. The color then goes right thru the earth, eventually finding its way to trees on the other side. The trip thru the earth typically takes 6 months. I bring this up because the trees on your street appear to have the color that drained out of my trees 6 months ago.

Hobbes Leviathan is worth a read, JBTWay.
VERY funny comic series.

More? Decidui, actually withdraw a lot of food value and chlorophyll from the leaves and drop them so as to protect themselves from frost damage. The colours we see are what's left behind after the chlorophyll, and most food value, is withdrawn into the tree.
Nevertheless it is worthwhile vacuuming and mulching up the leaves and putting them in large black plastic bags with a little water added before tie-ing them up.
Good compost/mulch for the garden beds.
I've made two big bags already, from the paved pergola area. Which has now filled back up again.

I think we're saying the same thing here, Tim, other than one of us is full of poop, of course. I think i'll stick with my explanation, as I make like a tree and leave.
Centrifugal force from earth spinning on axis has pulled heat from the poles toward the equator. I'm having a hard time finding a sponsor for my thesis.
But genius is like that. It's hard to make others see the light.
IE the equatorial areas get more sun and heat all year round.
Australia's dryness except for the far north, is due to ocean current effects like La Nina/El Nino, and the Indian Ocean Dipole.

Just joking around here Tim. Thanks for the pics.
Given that the Earth is approximately 8,000 miles in diameter, 25,000 miles in circumference, and makes a complete rotation in about 24 hours, which is approximately 1,000 miles per hour (16.6 miles per minute) at the equator, there is a LOT of "centrifugal" (inertial) force at the equator. And, there is a LOT of "gravity" which, fortunately, keeps us "grounded" and not flying off into outer space.
It is therefore not surprising that whatever is able to be released from the poles at less than "escape velocity" will eventually be returned to Earth at another, lower, latitude.
;)
Hahahahahahaha! That's funny!
