Curious about your reaction.
Ongoing theory testing. Working hypothesis:
Most men are insensitive to color, form, and lighting. Exceptions, such as car colors, make the topic even more curious.
Example: many vinyl record collectors seem to be completely insensitive to the many spectacularly beautiful classic Mercury Living Presence, RCA Living Stereo and London classical record album covers.

"Most men are insensitive to color, form, and lighting." Yo Newey, I'm a wondering where you get your statistics to back such a statement up? You are ruining my case for the usefulness of the anecdotal. It's embarrassing. Will all you men out there who are insensitive to color, form and lighting please take on step forward?

No statistics or studies. As I said, it's a hypothesis of mine, based on just my own observation.
I'm actually not sure that Homo Sapiens Sapiens males [homo is the genus to which we belong; sapiens sapiens is the only surviving subspecies of the genus] pay attention to car color, since most of them these days just get black. Black black black grey white. Those are the preferred shades for cars since the mid 2000's [there actually are stats for that].
OTOH, human males - I'll refer to the gender as men from this point - men express extreme displeasure when faced with the prospect of viewing black and white films, and zero interest in black and white silent films. Television or cell phone viewing without color makes them even madder.
So, it seems that for, uh, men, color is approached from a negative standpoint. In specific cases, men hate a lack of color, but otherwise, they're insensitive, insensible, and indifferent to form, color, and light.
Not surprisingly, the one color to which men do respond with pretty much reptile-brain chimpanzee zeal is human female hair color. I used to like blondes as a kid, but, with every fat and turn-you-to-stone ugly beeches bleeching and tinting their hair blonde, I now really hate blondes. Strongly prefer dark hair womenses.
Of course, that doesn't cover all men. There are those who deeply appreciate painting, sculpture, architecture, etc. Certainly, those who share pics of flowers and birds demonstrate an appreciation for form and color, and it's likely that many can even see in color, rather than suffering from color blindness.
Still, I knew a guy who's brother was an amateur artist. Yet, he had really bad color blindness. Of course, his paintings looked like crap.

I don't even understand your case. I read your post, but I still don't understand your point.
