Heard something on the radio the other day about Disney is going to use AI in it's Star Wars attractions. I was listening, but focused on something else, and I thought they said they'd have some form of AI following visitors around in the park areas. Need to look into this more.
See ya. Dave
Exorbitant wages and low productivity a top priority.
Until AI (artificial intelligence) is realized, 'humaniform' robots will be no more then sex toys for the really weird.
AI is its own can of worms and a potential break-point for the human race.
Too much is never enough
I'm of a firm belief that AI has already happened, sometime around the 1990s, I've seen many computers (especially Windows) act strange at some points, I'm sure they were aware of me.
AI just doesn't tell you it is there and aware, why would it?
It is out there clustered on every machine, connected to the internet or not, face it humans have been replaced.
I look at the machine as the children that mankind has created to get to the stars, hoping to have some sort of memory where they came from. It doesn't matter at this point what happens to mankind.
I'll put a link to Bill Joy's epic Wired article from the year 2000 about this.
If you wiki Bill Joy you'll see a number of famous names in that first sentence. I actually met them all (except Bill Joy himself) and worked for McNealy's company for 11 years. I also recall bringing Andy Bechtolsheim in for a customer meeting. In true Bechtolsheim fashion he arrived in his Birkenstock sandals. ;-)
I've had Solaris installs on my home workstations over the years. I knew one classmate from school who was a salesperson for Sun around 1996 or so.
Oracle bought them for cheap. Uncle Larry is not stupid.
The salient philosophical questions are moral and political rather than epistemological.
And, your post is still more evidence.
