I use / to fill the Message Field.
It's been considered uncool to put nt in the Message Field, you have to open the Post to see it.
Not the Biggest Deal.
This is one of the fun things about being a computer expert.Every character has an ASCII code number. The "space" character (the space bar on your keyboard) is ASCII 032. The "carriage return" ("Enter") character is ASCII 013. Both of these are "invisible", but are still characters.
As I used to say when I taught computer classes, "It's not a nothing, it's a something".
Edit: Put another way: Just because you can't see it doesn't mean it isn't there.

Heck, I used to like to put control & escape sequences in character strings, so that the 'bell' would ring (ctrl-g, aka ASCII CHR 7, aka "BEL"), etc.
Some've us are older than dirt, you know?
:-)
all the best,

Do not even get me started!
The four-line program I could write in DOS BASIC to create a strobe light effect is now a major pain in the ass, and requires compiling!!
