I would suggest Rune Audio, I assume hifiBerry is related to the Rasperry Pi right? I've been out of the loop on all of that since getting the modified Sonos :)
Follow Ups:
Correct. hifiBerry is a Swiss product supposedly designed for us Audiophiles; sound card wise.
I will check out Rune

Ok, I looked into it, seems a waste of money if you already have a USB DAC.
That reminds me I have a raspberry pi 3 collecting dust, but already have an Auralic Aries, so I don't see a point in setting something like this up. I am sure you'll be pleased with the Sonos. I use it mostly with optical, as there's no noise.
Good luck in your quest, don't drive yourself crazy with DIY. Do you have to do any soldering with that thing? Seems not too much of a investment, at the very least it'll be fun, good learning and rest assured if you can read it should be easy, there's lots of settings , those Linux systems for audio only are great, all the settings are automatically set.
"I have a raspberry pi "
I'm so glad you wrote that. My wife needs to make one on Saturday.
:)
