The house I grew up in, in Vancouver, sold years ago for well over $2M, and it was stated as a property with floor plans for a new house on a tiny lot. That house is an amazing deal in the big scheme of things for $2M (even if not at al my style).

I'm not disrespecting you or your house - but --- 2.5 mil???????
I thought the real estate bubble ended 10 years ago.
For that kind of money, you can get a mansion, with 5 bdrms on acereage - maybe even something on the ocean in Malibu.

And they knocked it down, built a nice house on it, sold it for $4.7M around 2 years later (52 x 120 lot). That's Vancouver.
No disrespect taken, is what it is. My parents sold far too long ago and my mom wasted all her money left with almost nothing. Again, is what it is.
Down the street current listing:
...maybe a condo back a few blocks with a view.

houses with direct (unobstructive view) of the Ocean here in San Diego (La Jolla) STARTS at around $4m, regardless of size. When I was house hunting 5 years ago I noticed a lot of homes we viewed (even over 30 miles away from the Coast) averaged about $80K more if the 'any' parts of the Ocean came into view. I couldn't afford those as much as I wanted to.
But no wonder, something about coming home from work in the evening, unwinding with a glass of wine and watching the Sun set over the ocean in your own backyard can be quite breath taking.

When I lived in Playa del Rey, I'd drive down to Manhattan Beach after work and join everyone else walking along the boardwalk along the beach, to watch the setting sun.
