Ever since my neighbor installed a dish, facing towards my house, I can no longer get cell phone reception. Coincidence? Or, is that a known result?

Follow Ups:
Of course, your neighbors COULD be Aliens and are Transmitting 'secret' stuff which is causing the problem. Invasion could be imminent.
I don't see small-dish receiving antennas causing THAT big a hassle.
How strong WAS your signal before the drop-out?
Too much is never enough
Cell phone used to be fine. The badness just suddenly started during Christmas.
I'll be looking into the outer space alien issue.

Small dish might be at 10 to 12 GHz.
Cell Phone? 800MHz, 1.8 gig 1.9 gig and maybe 900MHz.
IF the small dish actually feeds the receiver at another frequency, near the 2gig level, than MAYBE you could get interference.
Don't forget that all cell stuff is pretty well encrypted, using either TDMA or CDMA technology, which is Time Division or Code Division.......Multiple Access. GSM is in there, too.
I don't see much about TDMA any more, but the others are still alive and well. I have not a clue about the other stuff you hear about, being 3G, 4G and 'can and string'. whatever THAT is.
When Santa Paid His Visit, did he BUMP your antenna? Check the small dish utilities on the receiver for signal strength.

Could be your local tower is down.
And, I can actually see the tower from my kitchen window.

I would call teh cell phone provider.
I have found when the signal vanishes it is a failure in a local tower.
The only way the cell phone provider finds out is by complaints.
I know if I am the 'first' person to complain, they give me a lot of run around. But I just keep at it. And after a few hours they suddenly have a large enough number of complaints to investigate.
And it always IS a problem at the cell tower, which is usually just a loose bit of kit flopping around.
I do not think a typical small satellite dish could screw your reception, unless the dish was exactly in the path from your home to the cell tower?
If it is a BIG metal dish, like the old 10 foot ones..??
The neighbor's dish is a small, modern one.
I wouldn't even have thought of calling my cell company. It's T-Mobile, and I'll calling them tomorrow.

It is possible that signal leaking from the LNB or coax / connectors associated with the satellite dish MAY be causing interference to your cell phone. If you could get them to power the dish down for a test, that would be one way to see if the dish is causing a problem.
The neighbor's a good guy, so I'll ask him.
But, now I think his dish has nothing to do with the problem. I can even get a signal out in the alley, or in my detached garage. Might be the tower.
