If flying, carry-on or checking?
If on foot, the case isn't handy.
I have a hardshell Pelican that I used when checking gear onto a plane, but that was when I had more gear. I slimmed down to a canvas-sided smaller Pelican that I can stuff on board a flight with me. In a car for drive-by shootings, or on hikes, the bag is handy.
Always use the right tool for the job.
My son keeps his GOOD glass in a Pelican case.
You can see it in the foreground in the photo above.
all the best,
That backpack looks a lot like mine. I should go check the closet. It better still be there.
Both. So maybe a backpack and a case. I'm kinda lazy and like to keep all my gear in one place. A stiffer backpack? Like one of those Oakley "kitchen sink" packs?
