...to take photos of your camera! Ha!
A good friend of mine recently switched from an all Olympus rig to a Sony rig and is very impressed. I'll be sticking with my Oly....for now.
Crazy, eh?

I have a NEX-7 which is OK, but for me has a few flaws, like poor autofocus speed in lower light.
I HATE my 18-200 lens which is the SEL18200. Soft at the edges at ALL focal lengths, which just gets worse till by 200mm it is nearly unusable. F6.3? Try ISO3200 or ISO6400 to get a nice mid-aperture shot at a reasonable hand-holdable shutter speed. The vignetting is like looking thru a tube.
And what's WITH that Hot Shoe? I bought the adaptor to use with my Alien Bees.
Battery Consumption is off the charts. If I was crazy enough to try doing a wedding with this camera, I'd bring 5 or 6 batteries and a double charger.
Sony's RAW converter program is OK, I guess.
And the lens I actually like? The 35mm 1.8 is good. But at 3x or 4x the price of the Canon Plastic Fantastic? give me a break. (Canon 50mm f1.8 is wonderful and CHEAP) When I looked for another prime, I settled on teh 90mm f2.8 Macro. Unfortunately it is priced even ABOVE the Canon 'L' series lens in the same focal length and category.
Nope, SONY has again lost my interest. Now? About that Alpha 6500?
Too much is never enough
Funny, that's almost the same things a guy at work said about his Canon equipment. Guess one can get too used to and tired of, just about anything.
Even, the best of women?

I think the gadget guys have taken over. Photography is secondary to the 'gear'.
All the stuff I post on Deviant Art is single exposure, though treated with photoshop.
The other problem is what I call 'The Churn' where new models come out and the main product of the camera company is the Next Big Thing.
Too much is never enough
Hey Fenderlover, that's excellent! Let us know how you like the ball mount. Here's my Manfrotto:
Edit: Yeah, well, that pic is a little busy, and I really should dust the bass drum. Hey, whaddaya want for two minutes and free? At least it's more-or-less properly exposed. lol

My mini-Manfrotto. NEX with macro lens.
What Macro do you have for your NEX?
The old Macro was a 30mm and IMO worthless since you would need to be too close. Way, Way, overpriced at around 300$.
The NEW Macro, OTOH, is a 90mm 2.8 and is well reviewed. Too Bad it is around 20% MORE expensive than Canon 'L' Glass of the same capabilities.
Makes me wish I'd bought something OTHER than SONY.
Too much is never enough
Canon 70-200 F4 pro lens. Luv it.
:)
I have the IS model of one of those. I love it. Got it several years ago as one of my first 'L' series lenses when my kid was playing soccer, then JV HS football. When he went on to varsity, the f4/IS couldn't handle the shi**y lighting in the local high school fields, so I found a used 2.8/non-IS version that worked much better at night, especially when I upgraded the body to a 7D. I thought I'd sell off the f4 model, but it's so much lighter and has IS, so I kept them both. I'm pretty much a packrat for lenses anyhow.
Glad you found the tripod.
The F2.8 model is, among some photo-optics-philes, the tits, mostly 'cause it's expensive. But, what they don't know is that the F4 has better glass.
And, who ever needs F2.8 for focussing?
Plus, the F4 is better suited to taking action shots of your kiddo. One F-stop isn't worth the extra poundage - especially in the digital age.
:)
Give it back.
Hey, you left it layin' on the trail. Now it's mine.
:)
Nothin' like peer pressure, is there?
;-)
Do you like it?
all the best,
mrh
Ought to be great, during hikes. Lens is pretty darn sharp, so far. Very nice auto-zoom action. 3-speeds. Need to get out, maybe take photos of car.
