I am sure that the same friend was sooooo happy with amount of paperwork for other insurance companies. Sorry, but if your friend claims that ACA was reason to sell his practice, your friend is most likely a liar.
As much as part-time work after ACA enactment, you must be Fox News and Breitbart reader, i.e. completely removed from reality and facts. The story of increase in part time work is BS, and you could know that if you would bother to check the facts.
As much as companies not offering ACA as non-profitable, you probably refer to Cigna and Aetna. That was shown to have nothing to do with a cost but denial to merge. Again, little bit of reading skills and desire to know the facts opens up new horizons.
As much as insurance cost going up, see my post to Abe. Don't blame ACA, blame greedy Pharma, insurance companies, and doctors.

Well you are wrong sir and it wasn't just the paper work. They had to hire more staff just to handle the paper but the procedural codes were getting more difficult to process and he could no longer order tests that he needed to in many cases depending on the age of the patient.
As far as being Fox News which it isn't,keep in mind that Dems lost 930 additional seats in the last 8 years from congress to stathouses, mostly due to Obamacare. That law has been poison for Democrats.

But you are not only wrong but also full of BS.
1) For those who had insurance other than ACA nothing changed.
2) Those who got ACA either did not have an insurance before, or lost it, or chose to have ACA it as it is better than what they had. In any case, those patients are better of.
3) As for any insurance, what is covered varies from plan to plan. Even more, it varies from year to year for the same insurance plan. ACA does not complicates it or makes it easier. Thus it is no different that any insurance; doctor has to get approval for a procedure for each and every plan, ACA or not.
(Except that many preventive care items are covered now 100% with no deductible and no matter what insurance you have, which made it actually simpler, but that is inconsequential for big picture).
4) Procedure codes are standardized and have nothing to do with what insurance or company you have. No need to "learn" different codes for different insurances.
If your friend claimed what you said, he is a liar.
As much as losing the seats, you are right. Democrats lost because they did not effectively responded to lies spread by Faux news, et al, that were paid by "the people" (read corporations, and as it seems foreign government) targeting mostly uneducated.
You know, those who yell "repeal Obamacare" while receiving ACA subsidies,
those who claim being ripped of by liberal states while receiving 2 federal dollars per dollar given, mostly paid by liberal states,
those who want everyone to take care of himself while supporting "right to work" states where individuals benefit from union members work but not having to pay union dues,
those who are against a single payer health system but do not want "government" to touch their Medicare,
those who complain that there are no coal jobs any more, but for years did not move their buts to learn new skills and/or do not want to move to where jobs are (and still believe Danny boy that those jobs are coming back),
those who think that Donnie Boy saved 1000s of jobs at Carrier, while not realizing that it is paid by their taxes,
those supporting fixing government spending by reduction of "entitlements", read Social Security, medicare, etc., that we all paid in to all our working lives, while hailing increase in military spending,
those who cheered that conservative congress blocked Obama's infrastructure bill/loan when country needed it the most, and now cheer the same conservative congress and the president for proposing the same when we do not really need it,
those who waved Russian flags on Trumps rally not realizing whose flag they are waving...
I could go on way longer, but I made my point, at least until Rod does not delete the whole tread.

Even tho I get my insurance thru work, part of it comes out of my salary every two weeks and before the ACA,I was paying less for my daughter and myself than I was for just myself now. Some people it helped but the majority it didn't help. Many people lost their doctors and it became more difficult to be referred to a specialist. It also hurt employers from hiring many people full time just to skirt the cost of buying health insurance.
This is how good the ACA is.

And the Repubs will probably lose at least that many as result of their actions on healthcare. It will be poison for the repubs too.
