My Coat Hanger antenna picks up everything with little problem here in the Asheville area which is surrounded by mountains.

Carolina in flat except where you are, know it very very well. I live too low too far away. Im ham nad know antenna theory and RF propagation very well also. Think try to receive Knoxville which you can't.In the diagram there are [lenty of stations I can get but they are local bottom feeders and PBS (which I like) but no major etworks therefore no sports. They are in DC and too weak even with my listed antenna height of 100 feet.
Now look at how much better Asheville is with most of the strong local signals from major networks. Got it?

Yeah, even the "probable" stations shown are NOT going to have signal strength worth watching, no matter how big your antenna is.
