I'm trying to take the keys away from my mother, she's approaching 70, very worried about her.
Anyway that woman in the video is a class act, she said she grew up in the depression and learned to take care of things.

When my mother was in her mid-70's I made it point to ride with her regularly just to keep track of her skills. When they got to the point you describe we took her keys and sold the car. We didn't want her to be the cause of someone's injuries or death.
Yes, it was difficult for all concerned. But necessary.

We took my dad's car away when my brother watched him run a two-way stop at 50 MPH. We left it at a cabin 300 miles away from where he lived, but he got one of his buddies to go up and bring it back to him. Two weeks later he rolled it and fractured his pelvis in three places, spending the next two years in nursing homes until he died. Necessary indeed.
