OK, I know it is a bad thing to do, but what effect on bandwidth and power transfer does putting an 8 ohm speaker on the 4 ohm tap have?
I would like to use an S-240-A to test a project which needs a 10k primary.
Follow Ups:
I would not say it is a bad thing to do. I expect bandwidth is hardly affected. The only drawback perhaps is a little less bass. Since the turns ratio is less (lower inductance) than you would normally have in a true 10k primary.
Take all of this with a pinch of salt since I'm not a theory man.
To infinity and beyond!!!
Thanks for the reply. I always assumed the disadvantages were greater than that, but what you say does make sense.
