Years ago I purchased all nickel upgrade iron for Bottlehead's S.E.X. 2.0 version. Can anyone tell me the primary and secondary impedance and the current rating of the accompanying choke? I'm thinking I could use it for a 45 amp but am open to suggestions if anyone has a better idea. TIA
Follow Ups:
In general, Mike won't give details on custom parts he makes for Bottlehead. But I can do that. The BH-2 plate choke rating is approximately 50 henries at 40mADC - thus quite suitable for a 45.
Just a note, the BH-1 output transformer is rated 8000 ohms primary impedance, which is much higher than normally used with a 45. Better to get one of Mike's 5K parafeed transformers.
Thanks for your response. I'm not necessarily wedded to the idea of using the 45, only of a directly heated tube that I could use with 8K primary. Otherwise I have a transformer that can't be used for its original application as I no longer own the amp for which it was intended, nor is that amp kit being made any more.
Just a thought...
