These are a special version of our standard BCP-15's.Same electrical specs. It's a plate choke optimized for the 45 tube. Standardly airgapped for 40 mils of plate current. It has 50 henries of inductance and 525 (nominal) ohms of winding resistance.
An alternate airgap can be used which yields 40 henries at 50 mils of plate current. This arrangement can be used with 2A3 tube operating at 300 volts on the plate, -60 grid volts, and 50 mils of plate current.
What makes these special is that the plus model depicted in the photo incorporates key elements of our new proprietary inductor designs as highlighted in a post earlier this month.
It has mirror-imaged twin coils in a series-aiding noise cancelling (humbucking) arrangement. It is stacked with premium M3 laminations (.009" thick) which have exceptionally low core losses. Optional solid brass channel frames. All solder connections are made with a silver bearing alloy.
Available in limited quantities for a limited period of time. These are the best BCP-15's that I have made.
Plus models starting at $100 each. M3 lams (if available) start at $125 each. Email me at acrosound@aol.com to order.

Our first group sold out quickly. I have a new group of PLUS coils available to custom build to your specs.
See post above for more details.

Another advantage realized in the BCP-15 PLUS is substantially lower winding capacitances and the capacitances are fully symmetrical. Most conventional chokes are wound in a serial fashion with turn next to turn and layer over succeeding layer straight through from start to finish. The capacitances will be different from each end (terminal). One end will be greater than the other. This is because each end has a different polarity.
Our strategy which employs mirror imaged twin coils lowers overall winding capacitance as well as making the capacitance symmetrical, i.e., equal for each terminal.
So each lead (or terminal) looks like a mirror image of the other lead (or terminal). Each terminal or lead in our specially wound inductors could be marked with a polarity dot... as the two are identical from this vantage point. Hence, this plate choke is not sensitive to how it is hooked up although we still identify one of the terminals (or lead wire) as old habits are hard to break!
