Joe:
I just noticed... yours have no mounting brackets... so they must be from an early, early run (perhaps first?) of these. How did you mount them?
Also... nice photo... I have appropriated it for future use!

Joe, Mike;
I have these also, they were the first models you made Mike. I think that I could start an MQ museum here with all the stuff I have.
Joe you going to Rocky Mountain?

Well, Mikey, looks like you mooked me on the mounting brackets. I'm glad you finally decided to come clean!
I'll ask the Pope to forgive you when he visits Philly next week.
Yes, these were one of your earliest TL-404 pairs.
I never had them in an amp. I used them to drop the level of a tweeter for a week until I decided to skip the tweeter and EQ the horn. They worked great for this job, even though it is a bit of a waste of a highly developed part.
They are still basically new with uncut leads. I stripped off 1/4" insulation on three wires.
I'm at jroberts prismnet com if anybody is looking for me.

To drop the level of a tweeter! That's a new application! How did you do that?
Thanks
Oldest application in the book for an audio autoformer. Tie your tweeter to a low tap and hook amp to a higher tap, voila step-down.
Now the reflected impedance to the amp will be higher, but you can use a resistor from the high tap to ground to put the impedance seen by the amp where you want it.
All of the big transformer houses made parts to do this.
