I am not a Chicgooan, but I am coming up from New Orleans for the festival!
That's commitment to a music idiom! Maybe we'll bump into each other at the Festival.
BTW I do have this on Valid Records, Masters of Imrovisation.
As I said to someone I was sitting next to at Constellation at a Chicago Jazz Fest after session when I tried to sell him a copy of the duet of Kidd Jordan and Hamid Drake I produced,( but he already owned it,) "It is a nice thing that inevitably I meet every one who bought one of my records, but that was also a bad thing"[from a sustainability perspective.]

Just listened to part of Set One from the Jordan/Drake album on Bandcamp. As soon as it started, my bit bull came running upstairs. everyone is a Jazz critic these days.

That first part is the first time I had heard Kidd play alto in maybe 25 years. When I first saw Kidd in the mid 80's in New Orleans he always played a straight alto (before that he was known for playing the C melody!) but by the nineties he always played tenor. Of course all this time (and going back to the late 50's) he played baritone for commercial work: touring Broadway pit bands; touring r' and b' stars like Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, and Stevie Wonder; and recording sessions for local artists like Earl King and Professor Longhair and even The Supremes and R.E.M.
Luke Stewart is DC based. Also a programmer on WPFW 89.3 FM out of DC. Catalytic Sound Festival will be at Rhizome DC Saturday an Sunday with Additional/Different artist.

Heard Luke in fine, powerful form (as always) last night in Chicago.
Yes indeed Luke Stewart and the Exposure Quintet were magnificent! It was a great festival.
Yes, my title to the thread dropped an "e", as it was intended to be Chicagoans Unite, as in descend upon or attend the Catalytic Sound Festival.
The festival is at various cities with Chicago as its home base. A strong lie-up across the board from what I see. I shall be at all three Chicago performances.
Cpwill, Luke Stewart will be participating in Chicago Thursday night.
I need to check into your radio programming, I assume it is available as a live stream.
