The problem I have with this list is that almost all of the singers are just dishing out all the old tunes. OK - put a standard in once in a while, but where are the new songs? The lyrics that are about the world in 2022?I'm getting something a bit different from Amber Weekes, and some more creative arrangements from Dee Alexander, who reminds me of Dee Dee Bridgewater who's a favourite of mine. Sarah Elizabeth Charles is more modern, more interesting songs and a very nice band. For me the pick of the bunch. I'd maybe listen more to these three.
But a lot of the other tracks could have been made in the 1950s or 1960s. That's half a century back in time. Too much has happened since then. OK the greats like Coltrane were timeless, but they were instrumentalists and songs are different. They also have lyrics that root them in the time they were written. Some lyrics are timeless, some are now sounding very dated, and many were pretty cliche even when they were written. Songs like Ipanema were fresh for a few years, but they're pretty meaningless now.

Here you go
I've been listening to several tracks of SEC and Scope and I really like this whole concept and the musicians she uses.
But who are they? There's no mention on her website of who plays on her live gigs.
And they're all really hot!
Thanks!!
