I have two of her albums. Iron Starlet is excellent. Hope to catch her in the Summer...she can't pick and grin like the best of the bluegrass players but she is trying.
Follow Ups:
Can't get into the style. Choppy flow.
But what do I know. Well, I know I can't play a piano at all.
Your interest may vary but the results will be same. (Byrd 2020)
I can't compete with the dead. (Buck W. 2010)
Cowards can't be heroes. (Byrd 2017)
Why don't catfish have kittens? (Moe Howard 1937)
She's a serious jazz pianist alright. Iron Starlet has some very nice playing.
I don't know if the gear she wears is for publicity or if it's what she puts on in the morning. Don't care really, if she can play!
She's excellent. I am glad I stumbled across her.
My favorite Cole Porter song; I have nearly 3 dozen versions in my CD collection and an uncounted number in my LP collection.
As for Ms. Han, she is obviously technically proficient, but that outfit. The painted on leather pants are one thing, but those shoes are ridiculous. and not practical for piano playing. If she wants to dress like that, I suggest she change to mandolin and join a glam-grass group.

Guess she could re-use that one for "My Heart Belongs to Daddy"... or even "Day and Night"...
Lots of chops, but way too much a novelty.
I'd rather listen to (and actually watch) Chico Marx at the ivories.
At least he was hip to the put on.
Love for Sale IS a GREAT tune, too.
"Once this was all Black Plasma and Imagination" -Michael McClure
What's the "novelty"?

I was reluctant and decided to buy her album after reading a review. Really excellent musician. Wardrobe not my cup of tea but she can play.
Her outfit almost discouraged me from buy Iron Starlet. I loved it so much I bought a second CD by her...-Crime Zone. Excellent music. Myra Melford wore some platform boots at a concert in New Haven! B
I sort of like the idea of glam-grass. Think Bill Monroe dressed like Ziggy Stardust, Lester Flatt dressed like late-career Edgar Winter, Ralph Stanley impersonating New York Dolls-era David Johansen, and Connie Han playing second fiddle.

You will like her album.
