Thanks for sharing. Nice tone, pacing and a great economy of notes. Too many yougins think its about blasting out as many notes as they can.
Ciao,

too many?
piano music that the artist, Juliana Osinchuk, gave to me, and I didn't mind some of the multiple, fast, notes. I don't know how to describe it, but her playing multiple, fast notes was not like the Coltrane machine gun effect. Her playing was more musical to me despite the speed. I still prefer "an economy of notes" though, whether it be Tchaikovsky or Coltrane.
Coltrane earned the right to; maybe even invented it. Youngin', not so much.
Just my two cents.

of that fast note assault. "Great economy of notes" is exactly what I prefer instead of Coltrane.
I did like the LP below however.
well, yeah, that was a new language to begin that he pretty much devised and needed to explore (with a nod to John Gilmore).
Check out Ballads on impulse.
Also, there are some "peaceful/gentle side of" John Coltrane comps that focus on his ballads.
That side of him really was beautiful.

Unfortunately, my 1965 copy is VG to VG+, so small parts of the record do have distortion. Cut three on side A is the worst, and the dull grooves indicate that. It only cost me 50 cents, so I can't complain.
It is the late night jazz style that I like, and that is usually the only time I get to listen anyway.
Thanks for forcing me to get the record out and finally listen to it.
Mellow and beautiful. You might also check out Trane's Crescent album, its one of my faves.

Also check out Ellington & Coltrane.... You may like it.
This is the one that plays in my head when I need to hear IASM and I don't have another source.

and purchased the Acoustic Sounds reissue for $35 at our only record store. I am cleaning it right now, but I will check out Ellington and Coltrane as well. Thanks.
Fabulous
Oh yeah.
