Got Cisco's book, but have not had time to crack it open. Several friends are really into it at the moment. For those interested in William Parker it is a worthy read. Met Cisco pre-COVID in Chicago's Wicker Park neighborhood. Caught a Fred Anderson tribute at the Constellation featuring Toshinori Kondo, Tatsu Aoki, and Hamid Drake. I also would frequent The Beat Kitchen where Extraordinary Popular Delusions plays on Monday nights, Featuring Mars Williams, Jim Baker, Steve Hunt, and Brian Sandstrom. Ed Wilkerson sits in when Mars is unavailable.
Beat Kitchen Link, Thank-you kindly to the Chicago Reader and Howard Reich
Thanks. I have some records recorded at The Hungry Brain. I like the Chicago scene. Great musicians and great music.
