Steely Dan knew how to pick their guitarists. There's a long list of extremely stylish and creative studio musicians, some of whom weren't too known on the touring circuits or through their own CDs.Jon Herington - now here's a lovely player, and a mainstay of Steely Dan's later work. Great command of chords. YT has his "When you Wish Upon a Star", "Maxine" and other nice arrangements for solo guitar. His track with David Bromberg has hilarious lyrics and nice solos. He seems to have a different guitar on every track - must be a real collector!! He's a big educator too. Quite a personality.

With these guys you get technical perfection coupled with creativity, invention and loads and loads of "style".

good post on Becker / Fagan!
Rick Derringer playing slide on 'Showbiz Kids' !!
the Dan were agnostic when it came to guitar talent
Becker was a very tasty player, an almost Knopfler'esque touch
regards,
Great job! Guys.
then watched a couple YT videos of his older tunes.
The music didn't do much for me anymore, but still dig his sound.
Like David Sanborn.
Saw Kahn with this band once.
To satyhe had a tough "role" to fill is an understatement.
Even Victor Bailey had it "easier".

thanks for posting - this is now my morning soundtrack!
Happy Listening
Happy New Year!
That's a very nice track. And Victor Bailey as well!
The big name bands could certainly hire the mice musicians.
