you bet! a 'monster' player [edit: and Berliner's Banana's Are Not Created Equal is a disc I need to replace ... someone borrowed it forever]
a really talented bassist as well ... upright is HARD
I suppose I can only speak for myself though
my tendency is for really iffy intonation without frets, so I'd slide into notes ... then fake that it's my style ... I'm such a dork. those in the know would just punch me in the arm & grin
