Washington D.C. saxophone legend Andrew White has passed on. He is best known among sax players for his exhaustive (16 volumes!)transcriptions of John Coltrane, and he had a long and varied career as a musician, scholar, and teacher. And he was a real colorful character in an increasingly monochrome world.
