I've overdosed on Metheny a while ago - tired of his showmanship and his saccharine tunes.

But I've always been interested in the Polish jazz scene - some great jazz being played there.

I actually feel that an invitation from Pat to collaborate is probably more bad news than good news artistically, although there'll be money in it. I saw one of his disastrous concerts with Brad Mehldau, which completely stripped Brad of his unique bitter-sweet concept and just turned the whole thing into a cheap jazz brawl.

  I loved their first album. I don't think they ever recaptured exactly that piece of magic. Metheny has become pretty formulaic. He has the chops though - I saw him live around 1980 and he let rip on one number for a good 10-25 minutes playing some very impressive runs.
