I was doing a search the other day for the battery ground (BGT) tweak and happened across an article on system tuning with crystals on the same site.
I found the article to be interesting as there was information on what size and types of crystals to use, where to place them in your system and what kind of sonic benefits to expect. A quick check on Amazon revealed large faceted (40-50mm) crystals can be had for $10 or less. I might buy a few and see what happens. If nothing else they will make pretty sun catchers.
And I also plan to try the battery ground tweak. A friend of mine says it is the best tweak he has ever tried in his system.

I hear counterfeit crystals is a big business. Make sure you buy your crystals from a reputable source else they may not work. GIA certs are usually a good sign of authenticity.
unclestu.
He was one the most helpful, thoughtful, interesting and informed posters on crystals, the BGT
and various other tweaks we've ever had the pleasure of at AA.
Certainly much more useful than certain arcane answering posters that (fortunately) can't post on the
Tweaker asylum any more.
Basically you're wasting your time posting here Sue, unless you actually enjoy the oblique.
There's MUCH more useful info and dialog on Tweakers.

I have made the same suggestion to Sue before but, like so many other females before her, she seem to have resisted me. Oh well. Tweekie
Do you really think anyone at Tweakers would be interested in my homemade oatmeal fuses? Or how about my hand knit Christmas sweaters with coordinating hand knit tube cozies?
I am. I could use a little cozy right about now.

I usually stop by Tweakers at least a couple times a week but I'm not sure I could add anything of value over there. They're a little too hardcore for me :-)
But you're right, posting here is useless.
so in that regard not useless.
Attempting to discern any useful info that pertains to our audio hobby though is a tough task.
This place is about as controversial as oatmeal.
Search the Tweaker's archives for unclestu's treasury of informative posts if you're interested
in crystal knowledge. Plus there's good info from other poster's in those threads.

Was that meant to be an attack on Sir Geoff?? A complement??
Uncle Stu RIP was always enthusiastic and often correct about crystals.

you wouldn't have to ask.

You are apparently blissfully unaware of the history between Unc Stu and yours truly. And of the myriad issues involved with the whole subject of crystals. If you wish to troll I suggest you make a quick beeline for Tweakers.

as I stated he was a great judge of character.

Crystals are anti vibration devices. Surprise surprise!

Don't believe me? Go see some of the knock down drag out fights we used to have on Tweakers. RIP Unc Stu.
Your humble scribe introduced the first comprehensive system of using crystals in audio applications more than 15 years ago. Brilliant Pebbles debuted at the London HiFi Show just after the turn of the century. Often copied, never duplicated. Accept no substitutes. Brilliant Pebbles. Power to the pebble!
Make sure the Brilliant pebbles are used in the nude and send them back to you know who to be recharged when they stop working. Just trying to be helpful. Tweekie
Many believe crystals need to be charged to restore their healing energy. This can easily be accomplished by putting them in sunlight or moonlight.
I used to have an audiophile friend who would listen in the nude with a pyramid hanging around his neck. Too freaky for me :-)
Oh, come on. You know you want to.
Where is it? What is it? Who is it? Why is it?
