He laughed and laughed and laughed when he told me that 54AWG would not even be enough for a 12 watt light bulb unless you wanted to start a fire. And as for Geoff Kait measuring 2 amps at the speaker, I believe the word he used was "clueless."
And the Mapleshade speaker cable uses 18AWG and interconnects 42AWG. Pierre said he has experimented with 54AWG but it is just too difficult to work with.

Hi Sue, Can you believe Geoff's retort? It's hopeless. Pierre is the actual owner of Mapleshade, says his speaker wire is 18awg, not 54, is trained in statistics , a co designer of the F-16 fighter jet, was a wiz kid of McNamara, is capable of using Ohm's LAW and looking at a chart with current carrying capacity of wire, much of which isn't needed since this issue is soooo simple, without the need for ANY controversy between anything like normal people, and Geoff won't even believe Pierre. Pierre is just another knucklehead? This looks like actual mental illness here, not just funning around.
Well Sue, maybe because you are a female or maybe because of the extreme magnitude of Geoff's stupidity you got Pierre to actually laugh. I have gotten a chuckle maybe once but never a laugh. Good work. Thanks. I'm not sure about his comment about measuring 2A at a speaker. Some speakers under certain conditions can easily see 2 amps. Not with 54AWG though. It would melt before 2A ever saw the light of day. Geoff claims to have been the chief mathematician at NASA. I can't figure this one out???? I shall join you and other fellow inmates in the wait for Geoff's apology. May you stay 4everyoung. I tried but as Mose Allison said, it didn't work out that way. Tweaker
Pierre remembered me from the years I spent at TAS and we ended up having a nice chat about all things audio. Made my day, actually. I'm glad I called him.

Hey, knuckleheads, the amps measured at the speakers are much less than two amps, on average. Hint: It helps to know the difference between a watt and an amp. Hel-looo! I knew it was a mistake to engage in a debate with English majors. ;-)
Geoff, Maybe you can engage in a debate on this subject with Pierre. He was a stat and engineering major if I remember correctly. If not that than maybe Clozapine will help.
