Any recommendations or advice on building the Fostex cabinet for these drivers? What kind of wood did you use? What kind of finish?

I used three sheets of 3/4" birch/maple ply from Home Depot at $32.00/4'x8' sheet. I didn't want to spend a fortune on what was essentially an experiment to me. BTW, although the plywood thickness was just a "hair" over 18mm, I went with the metric plan. Close enough.I used the maple side out...looks kinda nice...especially for the price.
The finish was a gel wipe-on oil stain ("Wheat") that I had from another project. (I didn't want the wood to "yellow".) And three coats of wipe-on poly.
The cabinets aren't perfect. I mis-cut the width of the sides 5mm short. And one of the mounting holes is 1/8" larger than the other one...oops! I rounded over the vertical corners with a 3/4" round-over bit. One cabinet came out perfect, but the other one splintered a bit. But I guess that's why they make wood filler :-) But they're tight and square.
I'll use the premium baltic birch (with a little more care!) if and when I rebuild these.
