I recently discovered the HE 10.1 speakers. As fun as these look,my research on this and other forums seemed to indicate the use of the apt 50 as the tweet in the HE 10's.The original EV tweeters in my pair of trx-12's gave it up long ago,and I've been on a bit of a quest of late to find something besides the current piezo units I installed to give something more close to the EV sound. As the TRX -12 mounted the tweeter concentrically, that would be my preferred remount location.I also saw a pair of "auto sound" ones in a little plastic cup at about 93-94 db 1W\1M.I can't recall where(parts express???)Anyone know how audiere actually mounts the tweeter in their 10" driver. My EV's have what appears to be a 3\8" bolt hole clear through where a stud attached the tweets. My recolection is the woofer is about 98-99db.Would I need to pad down the apt 50 to match and if so would this "screw up" things too much. The TRX-12 doesn't sound too bad even running as a full range, but I miss that bit of "sizzle" on top.If it matters amp is an eico HF-81,14W of EL-84 power.
Thoughts??

Follow Ups:
You can easily 'score' the original phenolic diaphragms that go in the center T35 horn tweeters of the EV12TRX's. Have seen them quite recently on eBay and you can source them from EV directly (AFAIK??)or try somebody like Orange Cty Speaker in L.A. Fix what you have would be the best approach and would undoubtedly sound the best.Good Luck,
