Wayne,I don't like picking fights, but you're insulting a man that I have a wealth of respect for and your analysis is just simply wrong. Certainly a poorly designed crossover for offset drivers would result in comb filtering on axis, but a properly designed crossover will not. If you don't believe me, check out the paper I cited earlier or "Acoustic Alignment of Loudspeaker Drivers by Nonsymmetrical Crossovers of Different Orders" 1989 B. Hillerich, JAES V.37, p691. Do your homework before you start insulting people. This is pretty basic stuff, Wayne.

Hi John! This has nothing to do with any lack of respect. I did not even know who Tom Danley was until recently. This discussion was prompted by things written by Mark Seaton, and by published performance data for the Unity device. I saw an anomaly that was evidence of severe diffraction effects, and upon inspection of the device, found that its configuration was responsible.
I do respect Tom Danley, and I like the Servodrive product. It's the Unity I don't care for, and with solid academic reasons.
