I use a set of these with a pair of Altec 802D's crossed over at 1200Hz at 12dB/oct. Like one reviewer mentions, the pattern is closer to 75x75 and not actually 45x45.

I have a pretty large collection horns, from vintage Altec and JBL, to modern 18Sound style horns. From a tonality and imaging perspective these inexpensive things match or beat just about every other horn I own.

HA - think I've got o one of those laying around somewhere (never used) Impressive non resonant casting. Is it sensitive enough with your 802's in the upper octaves to keep up with a typical front load midbass horn ? (wondered if I need some beaming to get the sensitivity)

The 2226's I use (8 Ohms/ 97dB/W/m) balance really well with the 802D's (16 ohms) as is. I've never had a chance to pair my 802D's with horn-loaded mid-bass cabinets, but if there's an issue, one or two 10w ceramic resistors in-line with the louder driver is an easy way to bring the set into balance.
