Hi I have been lucky enough to find a pair of rca mi-9458 drivers with pepper pot phase plugs. Unfortunately one driver has a broken cover and a open coil. Does anyone out there know where I could find a diaphragm? I could use a whole driver for spares and for the cap. A single diaphragm would be enough though as I could make a new pair of covers in a pinch.
So I could trade the good cover I have for a diaphragm as its in very good shape.
I have read that the covers are fragile and hard to find so maybe its worth a good diaphragm. I would love to get these going. :)

should I change this to vintage or trade?
These are great drivers. Sorry I don't have a spare diaphragm to offer. They show up on Ebay from time to time, but are pretty uncommon. Expect a couple hundred $ for one if/when they show up. I'd check in with the Cogent guys, even though they are/were more into the field coil RCA drivers, they may know someone... ?
good luck

Sorry Ed I just found the reply in my mailbox. yes I am just going to have to wait but It will be worth it. I think I have a good pair. the magnet strength physically are impressive. I have collected quiet a few other Different drivers. But as soon as I started cleaning them the force of attraction was strong. These are The drivers I want to use. not rational but... The peperpot phasing is another thing I like. Actually now I think about it. Its the build quality... so nice in their way. My one concern is if the Bakelite suspensions go hard but the evidence of folks enjoying them gives me hope that they will be ok.
