A poll, of sorts: Do you prefer your 8" Lowther full-range driver with a supplemental tweeter on top, or solo?
I haven't tried the tweeters yet, but also find little pressing reason to, and I can hear to at least 18 Khz, FWIW.
Follow Ups:
I recall that Terry Cain loved adding Fostex super tweeters to his Lowther speakers. While it was noticeable, I preferred the sound without it though I believe the problem was Terry's hearing and a need to pad down the tweeter.

I haven't used Lowthers with tweeters, but I did use Lowther PM4s in Oris 150 front horns and felt a need based on both listening and measurements to add super tweeters and try that combo. Before I got around to doing that I replaced the PM4s with AER MD3s. I eventually did add Fostex t900a bullet tweeters to the AERs. I have been very pleased with the combination with no desire to change back. The changes the super tweeters made while not dramatic were audible as a bit of added shimmer or sparkle to instruments such as cymbals or the upper register of violins and woodwinds which have substantial high frequency harmonics.
Lowtwers do not need additional tweeter, IMHO. I use Taket BatPure with EX3 and like it. More body in mids and bass!
I red about Batpure in this site, thanks for sharing :-)
