those who use K-tubes on top of their cabinets can investigate effects of various height and width baffles using cardboard at the tube mounting plane.

And height maybe. What are the dispersion patterns of the tubes
anyway?. I have the aluminum Transylvania tubes, never really
messed with them yet. What is a typical crossover point freq.?.
I'd imagine take a piece of cardboard 8-12" tall and whatever width that would help support down to 1K. for crossover point, maybe 1K6 . Eminence's old 1K6 2-way crossover (3rd order highpass) might come in a bit lower and that seems comfortable with Dayton's D250p. The subjective dispersion is wide and tall - above 10K, it gets beamy - you my wish to tilt the tube upwards. Do your tubes have the roller pin?

Got it, thanks Fred. Yes, roll pins there. Think I'll first
try Altec 902's.
I never quite "got it" with those roll pins - someone at Transylvania Power Company thought they were beneficial with improving dispersion ... early tubes weren't drilled for that pin
