This CH-9040-2 looks potentially awesome. Have not found much info on it nor have I ever seen one for sale, but it looks highly promising from visual clues.
It's from the Architectural Acoustics catalog, cinema section.

Looks interesting Joe, I wonder if we can assume it is a 2" entrance form the part number? I am curious how big that horn is, could it be a JBL knockoff?
Just checked the book and it is listed with the 2" 44XT driver, so probably a two incher.
I talked with Peavey, they still make them, but are proud of them--about $800.00 ea. Any experience with the DDS horns? It looks like they have a few larger horns that may be fun.
800 skins each? Yikes! That's some expensive plastic!
I'd bet they'll go for a lot less used, if they ever sold any...
I think it is pretty big. 400hz.
Moray James (I think) told me about it on DiyA. I believe it is a tractrix design.
I'm looking for good 2" horns to try with some Renkus drivers, so if it were 2" that would make it even more desirable to me at the moment.
I don't think there are many of these floating around though. It may even be discontinued. It is in the catalog but searches on Peavey home and Architectural Acoustics division sites on the model number do not turn up anything.
People who have actually tried Peavey CH-1 and CH-2 horns say they are quite good. It is easy to snob out on Peavey as popularly priced PA gear, but there is surely some good stuff in the catalog if we pick and choose.
I wonder if it is a Hughes design?
The klipsch K-402 is a good 2" horn, but very difficult to find. I have some EAW horns off the HK-294 system that sound great, but they are the smaller format and I tend to like the polar control of the larger horns.
