Last time i was at the shop in Hotlanta, Ivan had gotten one of those tube thingy's. I don't recall who made it but it was an official one (factory made).
If he see's this, maybe he will post a photo.
Hey, if you still have my e-mail, contact me when you have a moment.
Best,
Tom

Hi Tom:Those were marketed by Transylvania Audio. A small K-coupler that bolted directly on a 1" driver. They actually did what they were supposed to, gave a very even horizontal dispersion at all frequencies.
Not as efficient as a horn, though.
I don't know whatever became of that company or who ran it.

"Those were marketed by Transylvania Audio. A small K-coupler that bolted directly on a 1" driver."
The Transylvania Tubes were also made for 2" drivers.
The only pair I heard (in 1978) used JBL 2440s, the dispersion was so wide the Shure SM 58 vocal mics were on the verge of 6000 Hz feedback through the performance.
I may use the 8" Jensen speakers from the pair of Karlsons my dad built around 1960 in a pair of Synergy horns later this summer, the Karlsons will then become a pair of sculptural bird houses.
Don't know if that will add or subtract to the 2012 Karlson Kount :^).
Art
That's the one I have.
If I ever get some time-I want to do some measurements
hi Tom - I've got plenty of time but lost your address - hope you're having fun this summer -- Best, Freddy
