Does anyone have experience with the Frazier Cat Series of speakers? I have found a pair of Cat 46's that I would like to have if they will work in home audio.
The Cat 46 has a 2"x6" tweeter horn in front of a horn loaded 8" midrange 90 x 90 horn. This sits above the ported 12" woofer. The speaker is @ 85 pounds and is rated at 93db/1W/1M. Size is roughly 32" x 18" x 14" Frequency response is 50hz to 17K hz.
** The photo looks the same except the tweeter is 2"x6".
Any opinions or throughts would be greatly appreciated.

The foam usage is very effective, I've done a bit of work with it myself.
Bass is supposed to sound big. 6.5" is not a woofer size.
You're looking at a 3-way 12" design from a company that has built some very high quality products. And you're getting them for what? - $10 a piece? ;) Why are you even asking this question? Git in your hybrid car and go pick 'em up.
Thetubeguy1724 very kindly posted the real product photo.
They can call it "commercial", "studio", whatever. Sound is sound, wherever it is. There might be some considerations regarding directivity in your particular "environment", but hey, that's true for ANY speaker.
I'd say go git 'em.
Although, the use of the term "horn" is a bit of a stretch in this case. But so what?
:)
"Waveguide" in nature, not contributing much efficiency, but giving some directionality.

Thanks for your inputs! I have just picked the pair up and Inmate51, your cost per speaker is really, really close to what I picked them up for.
I have just taken the speakers apart. ( couldn't help it ) They seem to have the Eminence Delta Pro 12a woofers in @ 2 cubic feet ported cabinet and what looks like some form of Eminence Alpha 8" midrange in it's top horn. I couldn't tell what the tweeter horn was, it may be a cheaper type of Klipsch K series but I was unable to match it up with an exact model.
I know that most of you guys have midrange horns larger than these speaker but for me, it's my first "real horn" and I'm pretty exited.
Thanks again for your help!
This is taken from Frazier's website ---{ see actual photo at link below }--- The Frazier CAT 46 is a general purpose full range controlled directivity loudspeaker designed for music and speech reproduction in small to medium size churches, auditoriums and theaters and for use as a monitor in recording and broadcast applications. The CAT 46 consists of two subsystems in a single enclosure. The primary subsystem consists of a controlled directivity radiator with a heavy duty 8" cone type midrange transducer in a 90 x 90 conic horn. A 2" x 6" high frequency horn with a ferrofluid cooled driver is centrally placed in the midrange horn. The secondary subsystem consists of a heavy duty 12" woofer.I'm listening to:

I think it's cool and offhand I don't see why it wouldn't work as a home speaker, many professional speakers work very well as home speakers. IMO anyway.
