Can anyone recommend a high-efficiency bookshelf speaker to go with a 10wpc tube amp? No DIY.$400-600, if possible...
To be used in a smallish room at medium/low volumes.
I'm new to this whole 'high efficiency' thing.

I actually own the Decware 944s and I like their sound better than merlin bookshelves! And with 94 db, 3 to 7 watts is all that is needed to get them going. They have ribbon tweeters and an 8 inch woofer. I use them with a Cronus amplifier in a small room and i believe this is as good as it gets! Good luck!
Heard some good things about these. I have the FE166 in a larger enclosure and they are excellent drivers but need lots of break-in time.

How about Omega single driver speakers from Connecticut? 93db.
Klipsch KG4 are great. Very good bass also.
I had them for 20 years and love them. Cheers.

I'm using a 10 watt per channel single ended pentode integrated amp with Klipsch RB-5's and the combo is phenomenal! You could check out some of Klipsch's newer offerings as they are sure to have something in you price range.
Best regards,
I use the Omega Surer 3R and absolutly love them. I drive them with a 1.5 wpc Decware zen amp and never have to turn it up past a half and that is really rockin' Cheers.
Also check out the Omega Super 3.
No relation, satisfied customer. I haven't heard these but the reports are very good...
I didn't know Decware made speakers, very nice. That's just the kind of suggestion I was looking for. Thanks,
