Have you looked at Partsexpress 12 and 15" RS series subwoofers?

Nothing for high eff but the low Le from shorting rings looks like they are worth a try. Some folks just don't have the space for monster subwoofers so shooting for 50hz in under 5 cubic foot and adding a sub make a lot of sence. They're on my radar for after the holidays.
