My question is why is there such a big difference in how clean a horn sub sounds vs a BR. Is it the size of the room or level? If it is not harmonic distortion I am hearing in the BR, what is it? The side by side tests I witnessed, were in a large venue, Paul Bell's place in NYC, with pro sound subs. The horns sounded cleaner and more powerful to me, even with music playing.
I suppose I should do my homework and read all the literature you cited.
BTW I purchased two of your books and am following the latest online chapters.

The first thing I would ask is were the drivers in the two systems identical? If not then it could simply be the driver differences. But then there is the fact that this test was not blind and subjective. That means that it was influenecd by external factors that could have overwhelmed the true differences.
I would have to admit to wanting to try the same driver in several different designs, bandpass, BR and a horn - with identical bandwidths of course, in a blind test, to see if there really is this great big difference that is reported. I suspect that it wouldn't be that large a difference.
