Thanks, Dr. Geddes,As a fairly lazy DIY type, I look for the most cost effective and easy to implement solutions, so the large radius approach may be beyond me. Best of luck with your commercial designs, and I will be ordering your books soon.

I too look for the most cost efective solutions to the problems at hand, but I am after the very best performance possible so I stretch a little beyond what the typical DIY can do.But it's good to remember, or perhaps you didn't know, but this started out as a DIY project - to build my own speakers for my HT and some clients. Best "value" was always a very real, almost paramount consideration, as long as it was not sacrificial to performance. Nothing is done that isn't necessary for performance and everything necessary is done in the most cost effective manner. I didn't spend 20 years in automotive and not learn how to save on cost.
People often forget when I make claims of supreme performance that I am talking about at a competitive price range - not a "sky is the limit"/"take out a loan" price tag. I think that those days are dead and gone and people like me will be the nails in the coffins.
Thanks again for the explanations and for sharing your design experiences. Your expertise is most welcome and is one of the main reasons I come to this forum.
