I gave these a listen last night and the Pure DSD files do sound more organic and less processed.
In my head I've always pictured DSD to be the same as analog tape except the magnetic particles are all arranged in a regular pattern.
Thanks for sharing your experience listening to these. Yes, we are hearing the same things.
I just gave them another listen at higher volume and still had the same impression.
I've recorded 71 vinyl LPs in DSD128 and I like the sound quality better than 24/96 PCM. I used to record on an Alesis Masterlink at 24/96, but I upgraded to a TASCAM DA-3000 DSD recorder. I find their to be less noise in-between cuts with DSD. I also find DSD sounds more natural and realistic. I used to think that my 24/96 digital copies of vinyl were perfect. Then, I heard my first DSD128 recording of vinyl and I immediately thought it was even more perfect. I really like DSD.
I now own 48 digital recordings in DSD256 and these are my favorites beyond any doubt. I've never heard DSD512, but DSD256 sounds better than anything I've heard.

BUT, are they perfect FOREVER?!?
