I don't think the pro version is on Amazon, but my hifi berry digi sounds so good I expect I will be happy with this unit and Audacity for digitizing my LPs, assuming I can get Linux configured to see it.

so it turns out that hifiberry os does not support audacity, which I want to use for ripping the LPs. Even hifiberry recommends using raspbian OS for recording with the ADC pro.
And unfortunately, setting up the ADC pro in raspbian requires manually editing the config.txt file and configuring ALSA mixer manually.
Not anything I wanted to have to do although I can figure it out.
Fairly pathetic however that HiFiberry's own OS does not support their own hat...

I'm trying to tell you that you keep hammering square pegs into round holes. Get a modest outboard ADC/Phono preamp like the Parasound Zphono-USB coupled to your PC with Audacity software and be done with it ;-)
Well took me all day but everything is working as desired using the HIFIBERRY DacPlusADCPro for digitizing my analog recordings (reel to reel and vinyl).
Aside from hacking the config.txt file for the raspberry OS I had to download pimixer, vnc server on the rpi side and vnc client on my win 10 machine (for ease of operation of the RPI and digitizing sessions) and of course Audacity.
This is a 24x96 rip of a reel to reel tape of Bernstein and the New York Philharminic of "The Moldau".
Seems I have met all my goals for this:
+up to 24x192 ripping
+no dern windows drivers needed, windows not in the recording loop
+under $100 ($70 for the ADC hat and $30 for the RPI4)

Great! Be sure not to UNDER drive the audio as one inmate did. He was very proud of his rips and recordings and sent me a batch of sample files. The volume level on them were so ridiculously LOW that I had to crank my preamp gain way way past normal and his digitized music lacked any dynamics.
I found that setting the level close to clipping was good. Try playing back a few tracks to see how they sound in your setup before doing multiple albums.
Have fun! I did for a dozen albums or so before I was burned out from the tedious work.
yep that is exactly why I had to download and install pimixer. The line level input was too low. I tried increasing the output level of the RT 707 but it was not enough.
when I opened the pimixer app, the default "capture" level of the anolog inputs looked to be (they are slider bars) about 33%.
I increased to about 40% and in the example screen shot the level is only a little low. I will go higher for next rip from tape.
I don't know yet what the recording level will be from the IFI phono preamp, but with pimixer I am sure I can adjust as needed.
Have not had the chance to do an LP rip yet so the jury is still out on in terms of critical iistening of the hi rez rips, but I am hopeful.

Looks like you're having way too much fun! I'm impressed with your perseverance at getting the RPI based solution working. I would have thrown in the towel long ago as I have little patience if there's a proven "Easy Button" solution available ;-)
I figured it was worth at least one day's effort. One of the things I learned from being a database/web app programmer (80/20) for 20+ years was how to research technical issues online.
I wanted hi-rez ripping, but I really, really did not want to deal with windows drivers. The KORG DAC windows drivers drove me nuts with blue screens. I literally threw the DAC in the garbage.
And since I like the sound of my HIFIBERRY digi, I figured I would be happy with the rips from the ADC pro. But honestly the jury is still out on that, need more time to do more rips and some critical listening...
