It appears that Frank I has disappeared???
I sent an email to Frank I asking about his review?
October is almost over- where is Frank I's review?
I will be happy to ready the review by Frank I.
Expecting big things (review) via Frank I in October.
I hope Frank I is enjoying his sample. Not sure why he pushed back his review until October ?
Looking forward in Frank I 's review in October.
No posts from buyers means they are either:
1. Very happy with the player and are spending quality time listening to the music and don't care about posting their opinion
OR
2. They are preparing themselves to sell this player.
Till date I have seen 2 ads about these players. So not sure if 1. or 2. wins :-)
Milpai : F1 Nut on Steve Hoffman Forum says there have been no SA-10s for sale on Audiogon only PM-10 ?
https://www.hifishark.com/search?q=Marantz+SA-10
Go to Hifishark and search for Marantz SA-10. Then click the "Sold/Expired Listing" tab. You should see the ones that were on Audiogon.
I am new to the forum and I would like to chime in on the new Marantz Sa 10 Hi Rez audio player. I now have around 100 hours of break in on the player and I have played quite a few cds and a few sacds. I think Ken Ishiwata of Marantz has something special with this new design. The sense of immediacy relating to dynamic range, musicality, detail and the timberal acurracy (with a feeling of delicacy in the playback of the music) is first rate. The sound stage is large and layered and the seperation of instruments and vocals is exceptional. I have found this to be true with well recorded cds as well as sacds. The higher the quality of the source material I put on always results in the feeling of being closer to the actual recording session. The music has a sense of livelyness and musicality that makes listening a real pleasure. I am very critical listener so the results I have found for myself with this player are satisfying. I primarily listen to Blues and Jazz and some Soft Rock. Some of the cds I have listened to are listed as follows: Duke Robillard-Blue Mood, Monte Alexander-Goin' Yard, Maria Maldaur-A Woman Alone With The Blues, Robin Ford & The Blue Line-The Authorized Bootleg, Eddie Vinson-Kidney Stew is Fine, Harry Connick Jr.-Eleven, Sacd Diana Krall-The Look Of Love
The associated equipment is listed as follows: Krell KCT preamp (with Siltech cast cable, Krell FPB 600C amplifier, Legacy Focus 20/20 speakers, Siltech LS188 speaker cables, and Siltech SQ110 Classic balanced interconnects
I am planning on recording some Hi Rez music files to a USB drive as an alternate souce for the DAC. It will be interesting to evaluate the results.
I am still searching for one (to demo) closer to my locale.
Fantja I hope you are able to find a Demo in your area. When auditioning the player, I myself found the only limiting factor for Redbook CD playback is the recording quality of the media itself. I can say with absolute confidence the player itself is not the limiting factor. I believe that the methods used by Marantz to process the audio signal allow a minimalist approach in the applied filtering methologies on the unit. This allows the signals in the audio passband to be sent to the output stages without any signifigant alterations in the signal integrity. I think this is one of key reasons that Marantz sets the standard for the benchmark that has been achieved. No doubt the associated equipment in the system also plays an important role. It needs to at least be at the same level of fideity to experience the special qualities of this player. With good quality recordings loaded on this player the playback quality is a revelation in all arenas related to playback audio quality. That is one of the key reasons why I listed the CDs I played during my review. I find Telearc and Blue Note have a lot of CDs that are mixed properly and the dynamic range is not squashed because of excessive compression. I have also found some other labels that seem to have gotten it right. I just wanted to to reflect in on my latest thoughts. Regards. Rogl
I am looking for a review by Frank I -
Seems Frank 1 is not going to post a follow up.
it is only half of June. He still has until the end of this month to release his review.
He did say early June : It will be interesting to find out if Frank 1 finds SA-10 CD performance inferior to previous early Marantz reference spinners as reported by hiredfox, in his final follow up (MARANTZ SA-10 page 2, 121.) assuming Frank 1 has auditioned the Marantz CD-7 & SA7-S1 .

an update HiredFox?
Hired Fox has already updated SACD excellent, CD not so good
Much Thanks! Disbeliver
Anyone come across a Marantz dealer/retailer that has a SA-10 in stock?
Now it is July- Frank I - where are ya?
Much Thanks! rogl-
keep posting your listening impressions until I can find a dealer/retailer for an audition.
Thanks! for sharing- Frank I.
Where are ya- Frank I ?
Welcome! and Thanks for sharing- rogl.
Good of you to site the musical selections, and, associated gear in your review.
Thanks
Milpai, Where have you seen these 2 ads and what do they say ?
They were on Audiogon last month and the month before that. I believe they were from the same poster.
So it appears that one or more is unhappy with the SA-10 , when I was unhappy with my obese Marantz SA7-S1 I also put it up for sale.
there are some well heeled folks that try anything and everything new, the pricier the better, and spin it off quickly, churning their systems
or maybe it just didn't sound good in his system
or maybe he really stretched to buy it and needed $ for something else - it's tax time here in the US
one data point isn't much to go on. jury is still out, and at this price point, may be out for a while
unsure what is going on w/ this spinner?
seems they are unhappy.
one review I've seen, you'd think Marantz would be sending some out to prime the pump, so to speak.

I received mine but my listening room is under construction so unfortunately I cannot tell you how it sounds, will let you know once I get there, it goes without saying that I am looking forward to it.
I look forward in your review- stator_99
Let's see. I think Rique, Hiredfox, and Frank I all said they had one and would post fairly soon.
Frank may be working on an official, publishable review, and hence may be waiting for that to get done. This is understandable. But it would be nice to hear some sort of update from him or the other two.
