Any obsession about speaker positioning in this group is nothing and is certainly rare, vary rare, compared to discussions that periodically occur in the (two-channel) Speaker Asylum. In fact given the information that we have gleaned here recently, positioning for the rears (and that's all we a really talking about) is only critical to get the very best out of multi-channel. But it is not particularly critical (just keep everything equidistant or have distance compensation) in order to blow away two-channel with respect to sound quality and dynamics.
