Teresa, have you never tried the excellent 3-ch recordings from MLP? And many of the mch recordings have just ambience on the surrounds, so listening in 3 front channels brings most of the advantages, without the "worries" of surround placement. I would have thought any serious audiophile would find recordings with 3 true front channels very enjoyable.

Unfortunatly I live in a studio apartment and my system is an audio/video system and the center speaker would have to be an exact match to my left and right floor standing Infinity Kappa 7 Reference speakers and that is where my TV is.
So until I have enough money to get a better apartment so I can have a seperate music room I will not be able to experiment with 3 channel stereo.
