Bishop is saying that the CD layer of Telarc SACDs use the same masters as Telarc CDs. This was in response to a question about the CD layer of Telarc SACDs. The SACD stereo and multichannel layers of Telarc SACDs are a different story; they are taken from different masters (usually DSD, except in the case of their historic Soundstream reissues).Since it seems you are not familiar with Telarc, I have attached a link to the SACD section of their website. If you click on individual releases you will see ones that are dervied from DSD masters will read "DSD 2 Channel" multichannel releases will follow with "6 channel." SACDs derived from PCM sources will read "Soundstream 2 Channel."
Telarc has been a pioneer in digital recording in general, and in DSD recording more recently.
