Give their instrumentals a listen before passing too much judgement on this fun video.
You might find that they were a group of very versatile, original, genuine musicians.
Sugested tracks included:
Ricky's theme
Song for junior
Namastè
Sabrosa
Twenty questions
Son of neckbone
This video was likely made to celebrate the life of Adam Yauch (The cop with the beard), who would soon after die from cancer.

Follow Ups:
I am a big fan of their later works and instrumentals, those who were around and awake during ill communication and check your head, as well as who were fortunate enough to really follow them will appreciate.
Adam will be missed, he was a great bass player.
Also check out the in sound from way out, that is their instrumental album which focuses on the traditional side of things, very good.
I remember my grade 8 class trip to stay at a university in Toronto.
This was kinda lame because most other schools went skiing Quebec or other places that were farther away.
Anyhow at the time I put the money I saved for the trip into a different bank because they gave debit cards out.
Unfortunately when I got to Toronto my fancy new debit card wouldn't work, which sucked because it was also my food money as we had to pay for most of our meals.
Anyhow fortunately a teacher lent me a few bucks so that I at least had a little spending cash.
I bought the new Check your Head cassette from HMV and a crappy walkman from an electronics surplus store.
That saved the whole trip which would have been boring as fac since they were parading us around to all these different religious places.
Memories.
